ALTAR/NOVENA BOX FOR MEDITATION-Virgin of Guadalupe-Assemblage by Vickie Leigh Krudwig
Many years ago I visited the beautiful San Luis Valley in southern Colorado. I walked up the path way lined with the life size sculptures of the Stations of the Cross. It was a moving experience. However, at the top of the hill was a small concave, and in was the Virgin Mary. The whole grotto was filled with blue. It was moving and I decided to paint the images. Growing up Catholic I loved the altars and figures that greeted us as we stepped into the sanctuary. Today, I invite you to have your own small grotto, to help you focus in prayer and meditation. Made from found objects and new. The plain old cigar box, reminds us that it isn’t what’s on the outside that counts, it’s what we carry inside our hearts and minds that matters.
Box: 11 inches by 7” inches (closed) and 1.75 inches deep. Includes fabric, glass beads, brass bells, and milagro charms, mirrors, paint, and gold leaf pen. NEVER USE CANDLES INSIDE THIS BOX. Smoke will damage the interior. Please use electric candle.
