The spring winds blew hard and the old council tree’s branches swayed wildly back and forth, the ancient branches creaking with age. Standing over 85 feet tall and at least 7 feet in diameter the tree was massive. I stood there mesmerized. I had come to see where the Ute held their councils. This composition is an effort to capture the tree and its indescribable energy. It was clear I was standing on Holy ground.
